The Tulwar- Kora handled Kukri was used in Nepal at least by the early 1800´s. I use the term “Tulwar-Kora” because the general form of the hilt, being a design that draws its influence from the Tulwar and Kora Sword, not only the one or the other. Some of the hilts have more of a Tulwar design while others remind of the Kora sword. Most often the marriage of these two styles is found combining elements from the Tulwar and Kora. Sirupate blade with Koftgari decorated base, metal handle in form of Tulwar & Kora Sword. Traditional style leather scabbard. The combination of the Kukri blade with Tulwar-Kora hilt makes it a powerful weapon. The National Museum in Nepal has the largest collection of traditional weapons in Nepal TheTulwar- Kora handled Kukri blade length is 13 Inch and unpolished blade, which is a hand made the blade. Handle length is 5 inches and it is a fixed blade handle. The total length of the Kukri is 18inches. The material used in this kukri is Highly Grade Carbon Steel ,Buffalo refine Leather for Scabbard(outside) and Metal Handle, Pinewood for the Scabbard (inside), Laha( Nepali Traditional Glue). The belly is 4.8 cm, the drop is 3.8 cm, width at the Ricasso is 8 mm and width at the belly is 7 mm. the net weight of Kukri is 740 gms, but while packaging the overall weight is 1500 gms.
